Nothing beats fresh pesto, especially when you can pick the herbs right from your own garden!
A simple pesto recipe can be used for pasta, marinades and pizzas!
Perfect Pesto Recipe
Ingredients:
4 cups lightly packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup fresh Italian parsley
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
4 garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 cup pine nuts
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Makes approximately 2 cups of pesto. Use fresh, refrigerate for up to 4 days, or freeze for later use.
